My Performance

Go ape

For go ape my strengths were concentration, co-ordination, teamwork, courage and also motivating other these were all my strengths because for concentration I was always focused on the task in hand, and I always made sure that my safety was ensured for example on the zip wire, I always made sure that I was holding the correct wires in the correct way. Co-ordination was a strength because I had to use my eyesight to guide my arms and legs into things like the hoops or to coordinate a way across the cargo nets and I did this quickly and easily. Teamwork was a strength in the way that I helped those who were very scared of the heights to complete the course on a whole I did this physically by helping them onto the platforms and verbally by talking to them when they were scared. Another strength was courage and this was strength because I have a fear of heights and yet I completed the whole course so to actually do the course and stand on platforms high above the ground gave a great sense of achievement. Finally motivating others on Go Ape was a strength of mine, I helped people along when they weren’t feeling confident enough to complete the challenge. My weaknesses for the go ape activity was at times my confidence, strength and my landings on the zip lines these were weaknesses because at first I was scared on the crossings and I was slow at getting across because of the fear, but as I got to the end my confidence was better because of the adrenaline rush. My next weakness was strength because on a lot of the crossings my legs and arms went weak and I struggled to get across them. My final weakness was the landings on the zip lines when landing you either had to drag your heels or run on the landing stretch to bring yourself to a standstill but on all of them I failed to do so I crashed into the stop barrier at the end of the zip wires and this at times hurt.

Mountain biking

For the mountain biking activity my strengths were my co-ordination, muscular endurance, gear changes and cornering. Co-ordination was strength because I was able to successfully navigate my way down the course at high speeds without crashing. The muscular endurance in my legs was also strength because I was able to get up the hills easily and without having to stop at all, so this was strength. Another strength was my gear changes this was a strength of mine because I was able to time the gear changes quite well so this made it easier for me to get up the hills and also to have to right gear to accelerate down the stretches that were clear. My next strength was cornering this was a strength because I managed to navigate around all the corners without having to stop because I had fallen off or miss-judged it, so this was a strength. My weaknesses were my cardiovascular endurance, my turns on the burns and braking. Cardiovascular was a weakness that I had because at times on the course I was struggling for breath. Next was the way that I dealt with the burns, on the course at times I miss-judged the burns and that meant that I had to skid around them instead of getting around them, this meant by skidding I could have ruined the tyres and that I was also slowing down instead of maintaining speed. My final weakness was confidence I wasn’t very confident because of an injury that had occurred the last time that I didn’t mountain biking so it was always in the back of my mind while taking part in the course.
